• Be a part of the core team that designs algorithms for new IP products and services
• Conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance
• Develop new technological ways for solving high end problems with data science, analytics and visualization
• Design experiments, test hypotheses, build models, drive control groups and scale what works
• Work with various stakeholders to identify the business requirements, define working methodologies and the expected outcome
• Recommend ongoing improvements to methods, algorithms, tools and products
• Make OYO a data driven organization by creating platforms to better access, interpret and use data in driving day-to-day decisions and business functioning

Key Qualifications

Total 8+ years of experience
Previous experience in Product Marketing / Growth or Revenue Management working across customer funnels of awareness, consideration and purchase. Experience in demand growth function of an e-commerce firm is a plus.
Hands-on experience in Stakeholder Management, Insight Generation and large team handling is a plus

The Head, Data Science will have a large team reporting to her or him including the following key leaders:
• Manager - Machine Learning
• Manager - Business Analyst
• Manager - Data Engineering / Visualization


• Demonstrated programming skills in relevant languages, including R, Python, SQL
• Extensive background in data mining, dash boarding and statistical analysis with big data
• Ability to understand and build various data structures and common methods in data transformation
• Basic understanding of data mining concepts, and a track record of solving problems with statistical methods
• 1+ years of related work experience, with a host of interesting problems you have solved
• Hands on experience with Google analytics, Spark, Hive and scalable technologies
• Communication skills, collaborative team spirit, intellectual curiosity to constantly keep digging for more insights and interpret data in unusual ways driving unique insights


• Master’s degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative field.


First principle problem solving: Several solutions – processes and technology both and maybe even elements of business model – will need customization to build OYO in the local market. Think globally, act locally – keen understanding of problems of hotel owners and of customers and subsequent problem solving
Planning, reporting and stakeholder management: Ability to plan using guidelines from central team and build the right reporting metrics/visibility to enable quick decision making for moving business forward; Comfort with operating alone with little day to day supervision
Hunger to outperform, coupled with 'hands on’ attitude: Fearless ambition, a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude, with an inner fire to build something big and change the hospitality space
High energy, quick execution: Execute in an intense, fast-paced, and highly iterative environment; motivate and lead the team to do the same
