Responsibility

Position Overview
Join a dynamic team working at the forefront of automotive safety and technology, where you'll help shape the future of crash safety systems. This role will involve collaboration with leading OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, ensuring compliance with global safety standards and driving innovation in crash simulation and restraint system development.

About the Project
The primary task is to comply with worldwide safety legal standards (EEC, UN, ECE, AIS, Chinese GB, FMVSS, TRIS, etc.) and consumer test protocols (e.g., Euro NCAP, C-NCAP, US-NCAP, IIHS, J-NCAP).

Advantages of the position
This position offers the opportunity to gain deep knowledge and exposure to the following areas, working closely with Japanese OEMs and strong Tier-1 suppliers:
- Learn new safety legal standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate countermeasures and design solutions during restraint system development, while participating in decision-making processes to meet project targets.
- Contribute to the development of FEA best practices and standards within the organization by leading research activities to improve CAE methodologies.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the modeling and simulation of the client's components, including airbags, steering wheels, and seat belts, as well as relevant vehicle system interfaces, to achieve program performance targets.
- Work closely with OEM counterparts to define the appropriate restraint system for each occupant interacting with the client's restraint systems, and guide the application engineering team’s designs.
- Lead CAE discussions with customers and serve as the technical interface in meetings and project reviews, effectively communicating analysis results, insights, and recommendations, while providing innovative concept solutions.
- Utilize pre-processing software (such as HyperMesh, LS PrePost, and ANSA) to construct high-quality finite element (FE) meshes of restraint components.
- Develop and validate airbag, steering wheel, and seat belt FEA models, and run non-linear LS-DYNA simulations for crash safety-related impact analyses.
- Integrate airbag, steering wheel, and seat belt FEA models and dummy positioning in sled and/or crash test virtual environments for projects where OEMs request system development support.
- Optimize and correlate analyses with real-world test results (e.g., airbag static deployment test, linear impactor test, FMVSS 226 head impact).
- Perform structural analysis (crash analysis, static strength analysis, fatigue analysis, and NVH analysis) on steering wheel components and assemblies, following global CAE guidelines and processes.
- Collaborate with product engineers and test engineers to develop and conduct physical testing to collect input data for analysis and ensure robust correlation.
- Lead innovation and improvements in CAE by identifying opportunities to enhance simulation methods, tools, and workflows. Evaluate and recommend new CAE tools and technologies to enhance the team's capabilities and efficiency.
- Stay updated on crash simulation and safety technology trends, guiding the team's strategy and investment priorities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including design, testing & validation, product engineering, and sales teams, to ensure seamless integration of CAE analysis into the product development process.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as suppliers and research institutions, to leverage expertise and resources for advanced crash simulation and safety analysis capabilities.
