Key Qualifications

Minimum qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of automotive/electronics engineering and vehicle electronics.
- Experience in brake-related parts development, system design, and control design.
- Basic understanding of in-vehicle networks, in-vehicle communications, CAN, and diagnostic protocols.

Responsibility

Position Overview
The Brake and Chassis Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of vehicle dynamics, brake systems, and chassis components. This position involves working closely with various teams to ensure the successful integration of advanced vehicle dynamics control systems, while maintaining a focus on safety and performance. The role requires hands-on experience in system design, control development, and the ability to manage tasks with zero margin for error, while adding value to deliverables.

About the Department
The Brake and Chassis Development Department is a renowned division of our esteemed OEM client. This group focuses on the design and development of:
• Brake systems
• Chassis components
• Vehicle dynamics control systems

About the Project
- Vehicle dynamics system design and development
- Communication and diagnostic testing and validation
- MILS environment creation and testing
- Responsible for establishing and managing the HILS bench
- Functional safety and cybersecurity support
- Market research on all brake and chassis features
- Advanced engineering initiatives in 4WD systems and e-suspension

Advantages of the position
This position provides valuable knowledge and exposure to the following areas, working with a Japanese OEM and its strong Tier-1 suppliers:
- MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow-based model-based design
- Model-in-the-Loop testing and validation
- Teardown analysis and competitor benchmarking
- Application of vehicle dynamics in control algorithm design
- CAN networks

Responsibilities
- Supporting the development of vehicle dynamics, brake control-related parts, hydraulic units, electric boosters, and control design.
- Analysis and design of vehicle dynamics, brakes, chassis systems, and specifications.
- Maintenance and development of both existing production vehicles and new models.
- Development of brake-related parts, system design, and control design.
- Executing tasks with zero margin for error while adding value to deliverables.
- Taking complete ownership of design, validation, and support tasks.

Manager/Supervisor classification: Nil (Classifiable depending on the case)
Working hours classification: Deemed working hours system
Category of deemed working hours system: Discretionary labor system for professional work

Salary
Annual salary: *will be decided in consideration of candidates’ experiences and abilities.
Discretionary labor allowance: 60,000 JPY - 80,000 JPY
Overtime work allowance: By ordinary (Paid according to overtime working hours)
