Summary

The Retail Manager is responsible for the sales and retail operations management duties which include people management, client development management, and boutique operations management. He / She will be responsible for managing growth and profitability of his/her BTQs in accordance with the strategic plan, handling relationship with department stores (including gaisho), and motivating / growing store management and staff.

Key Qualifications

- 8+ years of relevant working experience with at least 5 years at managerial level in a multinational luxury good or high-end fashion retailer
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
- Target-oriented and client focus
- Strategic thinking, well-organized and able to work under pressure
- Capability to drive for results and deliver excellence
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate in luxury fashion industry
- Excellent communication skills
- English business level a strong plus

Responsibility

Achieve sales within assigned area
- Monitor sales and motivate the team to achieve sales target
- Provide KPI based data analysis, manage sales tracking, and target setting for in-store / out-store business activities
- Work closely with the merchandising / supply chain / training departments to ensure stock allocations and execute product trainings
- Execute the strategic plan within the assigned area

Manage BTQ Operations
- Provide overall direction of boutique operations to improve productivity and secure luxury qualitative environment.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the stores and provide guidance to solve operational issues
- Monitor the implementation of retail operations manual, enforcing the company policies and guidelines
- Facilitate store opening / renovation in liaison with all relevant departments

People Development
- Monitor sales performance, coach & motivate the boutique team to identify sales opportunities, provide excellent customer service and achieve sales target.
- Recruit, train, supervise and appraise staff
- Identify and develop high potentials staff to build future talent pool

Business Development
- Manage relationships and development of partnerships with department stores
- Negotiate with business partners about new / better spaces & better trade conditions with the help of the Retail Director
- Manage relationships with Gaisho and trade shows / exhibitions to improve Maison’s awareness & gain access to / recruit high-end clients
- Collect information on market environment and competition

Participation in developing retail network in Japan
- Ensure strong and profitable sales growth, by effective management of the Profit and Loss (P&L) and implementing the marketing plan according to company strategies.
- Develop and implement yearly sales plan and canvass.
- Participate in negotiation with business partners about new advantageous space, relocation, commission contract etc. to optimize the existing network.
