The Retail Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, optimizing store operations and network efficiency, and leading strategic negotiations with key stakeholders, including department stores. This role is instrumental in business expansion, overseeing retail performance, and guiding store teams to ensure alignment with the brand’s strategic objectives.
Work Experience
・5+ years of retail leadership experience, including network expansion and sales management.
・Proven track record in developing and executing sales strategies with a client-focused approach.
・Experience in global fashion, leather goods, or high-end retail.

・Strong knowledge of the Japan retail market, consumer trends, and commercial landscape.

Strategy Development:
Develop and execute strategic plans for store development, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth objectives and brand standards. Analyze market trends, identify expansion opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
Sales Performance & Target Achievement:
Drive sales across the Japan retail network by setting and executing effective sales strategies. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure sales targets are consistently met or exceeded.
Wholesale & Outlet Business Oversight:
Ensure the Wholesale & Outlet business aligns with the overall retail strategy by providing strategic direction, monitoring performance, and supporting key initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Profitability & Cost Management: Focus on optimizing profitability by managing key financial levers, including cost efficiency, pricing strategies, and revenue growth initiatives. Ensure stores operate within budget while maximizing business performance.
Retail Operations Oversight:
Ensure operational excellence across all stores by guiding and supporting store teams in areas such as inventory management, logistics, and customer service. While not directly managing operations, provide strategic input and ensure best practices are followed.
Stakeholder & Partner Negotiations:
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including department stores, landlords, and external partners. Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and business opportunities that support long-term growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with internal teams such as MD & VMD, M&C, Business Planning & Control, Logistics, and HR to align on business strategies and ensure effective execution of company initiatives.
Leadership & Client Experience:
Lead and develop store teams to achieve business goals. Foster a strong client-centric culture, ensuring an elevated customer experience that drives brand loyalty and commercial success.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and company policies. Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures to safeguard business operations.
