Logistics & Warehouse Operation (LWO) is a function of MHDKK's supply chain department, a team that manages imports, customs clearance, inventory control, customer delivery, and third party logistics vendor (3PL) service management and all associated logistics costs.
The LWO Assistant Manager leads team operations together with the LWO Manager to ensure that the appropriate level of logistics service is maintained, and works on process improvement activities for more efficient operations. This role involves acting as an expert on logistics services and warehouse operations and interacting with 3PL and internal teams. They will also be expected to always be accurate, trustworthy, and professional, and to work well with other departments as well as team members.

Professional experience & know how
• Minimum 10 years work experience in areas related to logistics and/or supply chain
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety, etc. and knowledge of Japanese laws and regulations
• Experience in projects lead
• Experienced professionals who can target managers in the near future
• Experience in the logistics department of an import trading company is a plus
Technical & management skills
• Excellent Reporting and presentation capability
• Proficient Excel skills (fx ,pivot, vlookup, xlookup, power pivot etc)
• SAP SD/MM module experience is a plus.

【Main responsibilities】
Service level management: 15%
・Implement an effective the 3PL warehouse management program through frequent 3PL reviews & ensure Partners meet agreed KPIs.
・Support manager in regular biddings for warehouse services, helping to select the most suitable contractors and realize contracts.
・Drive continuous improvement in logistics operations for enhanced service levels.
・Collaborate across functions to improve supply chain performance.
Distribution cost management:10%
・Develop logistics and related cost budget, for both finished goods and POSM, analyze, and report progress against budget in an accurate and timely manner under supervision of manager.
・Lead initiatives for logistics cost optimization (storage, handling, delivery to customer, security etc.).
Logistics & Warehouse operations: 30%
・Manage day-to-day logistics operations and resolve logistics-related issues efficiently.
・Drive import operations for alcohol products and ensure clearances in line with current import codes and regulations.
・Gather and learn the latest logistics service trend and develop efficient logistics services that drive accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
・Collaborate with the marketing and planning team to manage repacking operations at the warehouse.
Inventory management: 30%
・Conduct annual stock taking with 3PL with appropriate implementation details based on internal control requirements.
・Coordinate with supply planning to manage domestic stock balance between East and West warehouses.
・Monitor stock availability to maintain optimal stock levels, and initiate activities to reduce damaged and slow-moving stock.
・Ensure that product specifications (size, weight, barcodes etc.,) are properly managed and information is properly shared internally and externally.
Legal compliance and audit readiness: 10%
・Keep up-to-date with the various relevant laws and regulations concerning foodstuffs, in particular alcoholic beverages, check that imported products comply with the laws and regulations and take action where necessary.
・Understand preferential tariffs under EPAs, TPPs and other economic partnership agreements and work with 3PL to make arrangements for appropriate tariff payments.
・Operate with an awareness of internal controls and respond to regular internal and external audits together with managers, and respond promptly to the findings of these audits.
Team management: 5%
・Foster team engagement and contribute to talent development through coaching and peer assist.
