EIFJ, Tokyo’s only English-French-Japanese International School (École Internationale Franco-Japonaise --- www.eifj.org ---), is seeking a Kindergarten / Elementary English Homeroom Teacher - IB Coordinator to preferably start between January and April 2025, or from September 2025.
Established in 2019, EIFJ serves a diverse community of students from kindergarten through middle school, including an international nursery, with a total capacity of 150 students. We are supported by AEFE (the Agency for French Education Abroad) towards accreditation, and have been issued a Certificate of Compliance from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, enabling Government subsidies. As a candidate for International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme* (PYP) accreditation, we align with the IB mission, working alongside schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.
The school team is made up of one-third French, one-third Japanese and one-third English teachers.

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Experience in teaching in kindergarten, elementary and/or junior high school
• For IB coordinators, experience in coordinating the IB framework
• Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate framework, the French Ministry curriculum, or interest in being trained
• Ability to design lesson plans
• Knowledge of French is not necessary

MISSION
• The teacher takes charge of a kindergarten or elementary class, for a total of 24 hours of teaching per week, and fulfills the statutory service obligations within the framework of the IB.
• Preparation of lessons, implementation of projects, etc., in compliance with current the school’s curriculum.
CONTRACT TYPE, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS
• Part-time (29,5 hours per week maximum), or full-time with pension (40 hours)
• September to June academic year
• Salary, paid leave, and benefits depend on a salary grid (based on experience, degrees and certificates), to be communicated during interviews
