Mainframe Administrator (AS400) – Insurance Industry

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Administrator (AS400) to join a large-scale infrastructure project for a global insurance company.

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of AS400 Mainframe systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of critical applications. You will work closely with both onsite and offshore teams, coordinating with clients to support seamless application transitions and system stabilization. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to various transformation initiatives, including performance tuning, storage optimization, and process improvements, making it ideal for professionals looking to expand their expertise in mainframe environments and infrastructure management.

【Must】
1.JLPT N2 or N1 certified. Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in Japanese with native speakers
2.Must have more than 5 years of IT experience in AS400 Server adminsitration and maintenance projects
3.Ability to effectively coordinate with Customer SMEs, Onsite and Offshore teams
4.Actively involve in Application transition and stabilization phases by aligning to Japan (JST) working hours

【Nice to have】
1. Exposure on IBM iSeries architecture/components, ITIL, Agile methodology, DevOps
2. Insurance domain knowledge is added advantage

Large-scale project for Global Insurance company.

【Role and responsibilities】
1. Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in both Japanese & English languages to establish good coordination and communication with Customer, Onsite and Offshore teams
2.Hands on experience on AS400 system adminstration
3. Actively involve in the primary responsibilities that include but not limited to:
- Install, maintain and upgrade any assets required to support the Mainframe life cycle, capacity or performance requirements, including servers Mainframe Infrastructure, storage devices, server applications, database, middleware, system automation, and service utilities
- Implement and coordinate all change management activities to the infrastructure including those that may affect any service levels, including those with respect to other services, or any service levels provided by other Service Contractors
- Implement and manage scheduling tools for managing/automating job execution (e.g., job workflow processes, interdependencies, CLIENT contacts, and rerun requirements file exchange functions)
- Execute ad hoc, scheduled and on-demand production and non-production batch jobs on required systems
- Plan and implement validation of DR solution via exercises at an agreed to frequency with CLIENT
- Develop and document in the Standards and Procedures Manual infrastructure platform administration procedures that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies
4. Actively contribute towards various Transformation initiatives (Process maturity, Performance tuning, Storage optimization, etc.) to achieve the project goals
5. Collaborate with Infra, IT and business teams to ensure seamless system availability and performance.
6. Participate in performance reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Work Location:
Tokyo Office / 東京事業所採用
Work 4 days a week at client office(Tokyo), 1 day a week work from home
週4日クライアント先（東京23区)での就業、週1日在宅勤務可能

裁量労働手当：有(60,000-80,000円/月支給) *管理監督者グレードでの採用の場合は無し
