Network Operations Engineer

Tata Consultancy Services Japan (TCS) is a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, helping clients simplify and evolve complex IT environments to drive business transformation. We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Administrator (AS400) to join a large-scale infrastructure project for a global insurance company.

In this role, you will be part of a critical team responsible for maintaining and optimizing the network infrastructure that supports a global insurance organization. You will coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and international colleagues to ensure seamless connectivity across offices, branches, and data centers. The position offers hands-on experience with enterprise networking, exposure to multi-vendor and multi-site environments, and opportunities to grow into senior network, security, or infrastructure roles. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, proactive in problem-solving, and possess strong communication skills in both Japanese and English.

【Minimum Qualifications】
1. Experience in enterprise network operations or infrastructure coordination.
2. Knowledge of LAN, Fiber, WAN, VPN, and IP address management.
3. Ability to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.

【Preferred Qualifications】
1. Experience working in a regulated or corporate environment, such as insurance, banking, or finance.
2. Familiarity with network management tools and enterprise monitoring systems (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
3. Experience coordinating multi-vendor projects or supporting global network operations with offshore teams.

【Language Requirement】
Fluent Japanese level and Conversational English level to manage meetings and tasks with global Teams

【Job Responsibilities]
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Network Operations Engineer to support data network operations and coordination tasks across offices, branches, and data centers. This role involves managing LAN and Fiber wiring activities, handling fixed IP address assignments, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and troubleshooting network-related issues. Communication will be conducted in Japanese and English, and the role requires strong coordination skills and a solid understanding of enterprise networking.

1. Coordinate installation, relocation, or removal of LAN and fiber wiring across offices and data centers.
2. Support network setup for office layout changes, new openings, and branch closures.
3. Manage IP segment assignments and fixed IP requests from users.
4. Operate and maintain external network connections (VPNs, dedicated lines) with vendors.
5. Monitor network health, perform regular connectivity checks, and ensure system uptime.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents, providing root cause analysis and preventive actions.
7. Coordinate with vendors, project managers, and internal teams from quote requests to implementations delivery.
8. Assist in ongoing infrastructure integration and support projects with both local and global teams.

【Department Introduction】
The IT Infrastructure Services (IT IS) department supports the Global Insurance division by providing management and maintenance to our customer’s core IT infrastructure from global insurance industry. It ensures reliable network, server, and system operations across the region, enabling secure connectivity, smooth communication, and stable business continuity for all offices and data centers to our customers.

【Project Introduction】
Providing network support for our global insurance customer, ensuring stable connectivity across HQ, branches and data centers. Responsibilities included coordinating LAN/WAN operations, managing IPs, handling external connectivty setups, and working with global teams and vendors to resolve issues and maintain compliance with corporate standards.

【Future Career Path】
A Network Operations Engineer can progress through roles such as Senior Engineer, Network Infrastructure Specialist, or Operations Manager, taking on leadership, project management, and network design responsibilities. This role provides a strong base for advancing to positions like Network Engineer, Security Engineer, Cloud Network Engineer, or Infrastructure Consultant in sectors such as technology, telecommunications, or insurance.
