EIFJ, Tokyo’s only English-French-Japanese International School (École Internationale Franco-Japonaise --- www.eifj.org ---), is seeking a KINDERGARTEN / ELEMENTARY JAPANESE LANGUAGE SPECIALIST IB TEACHER 2026 - 2027, with a preferred start date in September 2026.

EIFJは、既存の教育環境を補完し、日本国内の家庭のニーズに応えることを目的に、2019年に保護者によって設立されました。現在では保育園・幼稚園から中学校までの課程を有し、定員150名の規模で、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ子どもたちが在籍しています。当校はフランス国民教育省の認可取得を目指しており、すでに東京都から「認可外保育施設指導監督基準適合証明書」の交付を受け、各種公的補助制度の対象となっています。また、当校はフランスの国際教育ネットワーク「ミッション・ライック・フランセーズ（MLF）」に加盟しており、MLFはフランス国民教育省、AEFE（在外フランス教育庁）、および欧州・外務省との枠組み協定のもと、世界32か国に108の教育機関を展開しています。

EIFJは、認定を受けたフランスのインターナショナルスクールで導入されている実績ある教育モデルを基に、フランス文科省のカリキュラムを実施しており、国際バカロレア（IB）初等教育プログラム（PYP）の認定候補校です。この認定申請の一環として、また東京国際フランス学園（Lycée Français de Tokyo）をはじめとする他機関や企業との連携を視野に入れ、IBの枠組みおよびフランス文科省の基準に沿った教育・学習の整備を進めています。国際的な教育と厳格な評価を柱とした質の高いプログラムの構築と共有に取り組んでいます。

業務内容

雇用形態・待遇
非常勤（週最大29.5時間）
または年金加入可能な常勤（週40時間）
契約期間：4月または9月～6月／7月（学年度）
給与、有給休暇、各種手当は給与規程に基づき決定

KINDERGARTEN / ELEMENTARY JAPANESE LANGUAGE SPECIALIST IB TEACHER

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
Licensed or certified Japanese language teachers (specialist teachers)
Native or near-native level of Japanese

REQUIRED SKILLS
Proven experience teaching in kindergarten, elementary, and/or junior high school
Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, or strong motivation to obtain IB certification
Ability to design and implement structured lesson plans
Knowledge of English is required; knowledge of French is not required

PERSONAL QUALITIES
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a bilingual or trilingual school environment
Flexibility and adaptability
Open-mindedness and a collaborative mindset

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specialist teacher is responsible for delivering Japanese language and culture instruction to kindergarten and/or elementary classes, with a teaching load of approximately 24 to 26 hours per week, and fulfills statutory service obligations within the framework of the school’s curriculum and the IB.
Duties include lesson planning, project development, classroom instruction, and active participation in the school’s educational program, in accordance with the school curriculum.

CONTRACT, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS
Part-time position (up to 29.5 hours per week) or full-time position with health insurance and pension (40 hours per week)
Academic year contract from September to June/July
Salary, paid leave, and benefits are determined according to a salary scale based on experience, degrees, and certifications, and will be detailed during the interview process

Established in 2019, EIFJ serves a diverse community of students from kindergarten through middle school, including an international nursery, with a total capacity of 150 students. We are supported by AEFE towards accreditation, and have been issued a Certificate of Compliance from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, enabling Government subsidies. As a candidate for International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme* (PYP) accreditation, we align with the IB mission, working alongside schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.
