LVMH is home to 75 distinguished Houses rooted in six different sectors. True to tradition, each of our brands builds on a specialty legacy while keeping an unwavering focus on the exquisite caliber of its products.
As we grow and expand, we need to attract and nurture the finest talent on every continent. External recruitment is a strategic pillar of our human resources policy. It is vital to bringing new energy to LVMH.
We hire creative thinkers who have a pragmatic business mind, an entrepreneurial spirit, an international outlook, and an appreciation for luxury goods. We look for the pursuit of excellence and the capacity to look to the future while staying true to the DNA of our brands. Candidates with these qualities will thrive at LVMH.
The newly released book, âTogether, She Shines Brighterâ, brings together 20 businesses, including LVMH, that are deeply committed to gender equality and sharing stories, learnings and knowledge around how to build businesses that can really effectively advance women into leadership roles, and how we can effectively build a diverse and inclusive culture in our company.
At LVMH Japan, we are committed to creating an open and diverse work environment that empowers women and makes sure they have every opportunity to succeed and thrive in our Group. However, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done when it comes to gender equality in Japan.
According to a 2019 study published by the Swiss research institute, the World Economic Forum (WEF), Japan dropped from 110th place to 121st place on the Global Gender Gap index, the lowest placement among the seven countries with the worldâs largest developed economies. Japan has never had a female prime minister and the numbers of female parliamentarians, ministers and managers are low.
That is why we are happy to announce that the book, âTogether, She Shines Brighterâ, featuring interviews with senior members of LVMH Group, was released on March 8th. Supported by the Dream Collective and featuring 20 businesses in Japan who are leading the way in diversity and inclusion, including LVMH, the book contains personal stories from business leaders on how they empowered, mentored and sponsored or supported women in their lives to reach their full potential.
Gender Diversity is a robust reality for LVMH in Japan: 54% of our Managers are women.
Curiosity, an open mind and a strong desire to progress within the organization are decisive to successful job changes. While people play the lead role in their professional development, the success of a new assignment is the fruit of a collaborative effort involving the employee, his or her manager, and Human Resources.
âShiho-san quickly overturned the idea that âinternships are for students to learnâ and instead made it clear that she believed âinternships are for learning from each otherâ said Chitose, a third-year student at Waseda University, as she looked back on her first day as an intern at Guerlainâs Marketing & Communication department. âEvery time I would express my opinion she would always ask me, âWhy do you think that?â and listen to my answer with great interest.â
"I'm asking a lot of questions to Chitose,â laughs Shiho, director of the department and Chitoseâs mentor.
âI would like for Chitose to learn the basics of marketing and how to formulate a strategy. But it would be a waste for us to just give her tasks to do. We donât just want to hear her opinions but we also want to understand her reasoning behind those opinions.â explained Shiho.
Chitose and Shiho get along well because they both try to learn from each other. âThanks to Shiho-san and everyone on the team asking me questions, Iâve become more assertive. I ask questions like, âHow about more like this?â or âWhat about this?â I realized that I shouldnât be preoccupied with the fact that Iâm an intern.
[Internship Application Process]
Currently, we do not have any open internship opportunities. When an opportunity is available, we will post it here on HirePlanner under a job title "General Internship Opportunity".
To deepen our understanding of the activities of the âMoridukuri Forumâ, the NPO we supported in this Summerâs first LVMH Japan Group Charity Party, the Group employees, family and friends participated in a 1-day forest protection program at Ome no Mori forest. It was a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in the wonderful forest environment.â
The volunteer woodsmen from Moridukuri Forum taught us about the forest and then helped show us how to remove unnecessary branches and trees, which were then reused as firewood, allowing the wind and light to be fully absorbed into the forest. By doing so, we helped the forest create healthy soil to support all the life living there.â
Everyone enjoyed getting out of their daily routine and working hard to save this precious space within Tokyo.â
DARE was created by LVMH as a result of its conviction that its own employees are an outstanding source of knowledge and creativity to fuel innovation and excellence of the LVMH business. This Tokyo edition focuses on the future of Retail, a key topic for LVMHâs Maisons, especially in Japan and throughout the Asia-Pacific region, an important and growing market.
